Research
We are computational fluid dynamicists led by Dr. Tejada-Martinez with expertise in mathematical modeling of fluid flow problems, in particular turbulent flows, and numerical approximations of model equations. We pursue work focusing on applications of these methodologies to natural and engineered environmental flows. Our research in computational fluid dynamics involves the following general areas:
-
Numerical simulations of turbulent flows
-
Vertical turbulent mixing in the upper ocean and coastal shelves
-
Mixing/hydraulic efficiency of water and wastewater treatment systems
-
Finite element, finite difference and spectral methods
-
Parallel computing
