Graduation Application Deadlines
Students need to submit ONE application for graduation (per degree per graduating term) to their academic
department. The engineering department reviews the application for approval and then forwards it to the
college office. The college office completes a pre-certification check for graduation and sends the application
to the university Registrar's office. To allow sufficient time for all offices to process the application,
please regard the deadlines below.
| Semester | College Deadline | College Deadline Students with Thesis/Dissertation |
Final University Deadline |
| Spring 2012 | Nov. 11, 2011 | Jan. 20, 2012 | Feb. 3, 2012 |
| Summer 2012 | April 6, 2012 | May 18, 2012 | June 8, 2012 |
Missed the University Deadline
The Undergraduate or Graduate Coordinator must certify in writing that the applicant has successfully fulfilled ALL graduation requirements including necessary minimum GPA's, required courses, etc. and/or is currently enrolled in any needed courses. The department Chair then is required to approve the late graduation application. Undergraduate students who have also missed the university graduation application deadline are required to pay a $50 late fee and attach receipt of payment to their graduation application.

There are three different levels of undergraduate Honor classifications:
If you qualify for Honors, your classification will be recorded during the degree certification process.
Degree Certification
Students participating in graduation ceremonies are doing so before graduation certification is finalized. All potential graduates are subject to final approval or denial by the College of Engineering. This final certification is completed after semester grades are posted. Grades are posted one week after the graduation ceremony. If the College of Engineering was not able to certify your degree you will be notified. If your degree was certified, you will receive a certification letter and diploma in the mail. Certification letters are mailed approximately four to six weeks after commencement. Diplomas will be mailed to you by the Registrar's Office approximately eight weeks after commencement.
