Finish problem set #3 by Wednesday, September 22.
Finish problem set #4 by Wednesday, October 6. You will need to use Gaussian graph paper to answer one of the questions.
Finish problem set #5 by Wednesday, October 13. You will need to use a table of D.O. saturation concentrations.
Finish problem set #6 by Monday, October 25.
Finish problem set #7 by Wednesday, November 10.
Finish problem set #8 by Wednesday, November 24.
Group semester project
This semester, groups of students will complete a Global Citizens Assignment (GCA).
Here is an overview of the assignment.
Stage 1 is to complete some preliminary tasks and form groups. Stage 1 is due at the beginning of class on Wednesday, September 1.
Stage 2 is the opening paragraph(s) of your paper. It is due at the beginning of class on Monday, September 20.
Stage 3 is an annotated reference list. It is due at the beginning of class on Monday, October 4.
Stage 4 is an outline of your paper. It might help you to use the ENV 4001 Guide to Outlining.
Stage 5 is a rough draft. To guide your writing, you can refer to the ENV 4001 writing rubric and the ABET Outcome 4 rubric.
Stage 6 is a peer review of another groups rough draft.

Here is a graph showing the population of people on Earth. Does it follow exponential growth? Can exponential growth continue forever?
Here is a figure showing U.S. mortality rates over time. Note that the mortality rate declined steadily during the 20th century. This is largely due to the work of environmental engineers, improved water treatment, and improved sanitation.
