In this work, we model the rupture of a pressurized cylinder. The simulations are carried out using the RKPM meshfree method in an explicit total Lagrangian framework with fullly coupled thermo-mechanical behavior. The Johnson-Cook constitutive model is used. We developed the visibility and crack morphology algorithms for this problem. The algorithms, in principle, can be generalized for any directed surface.
The first movie shows a thin cylinder rupture.

The sequence on the left shows the hoop stress and clearly shows unloading as the crack propagates. The sequence on the left shows the damage measure used to determine material failure.
