MARSUPIAL ROBOT FOR A POWERED WHEELCHAIR

The objective of this project is to fabricate a Marsupial robot for a powered wheelchair. The marsupial is expected to perform seemingly simple tasks like opening a door, moving obstacles from the path of the wheelchair & fetch small/light objects to the user, which pose a problem to a disabled individual. The marsupial is completely controlled by the user using the wheelchair joystick.

Driving Assessment and Training of Persons with Disabilities using an Advanced Vehicle Interface System.

The project consist of developing an Advanced Vehicle Interface(AVI) composed of a PHANToM haptic device and a commercially available electronic driving control system from Electronic Mobility Control (EMC). The AVI is then programmed to evaluate augment and train the driving capabilitiesof persons with certain disabilities.
