Working with Boeing to Recycle Carbon Fiber Composites from Aircraft |
Page numbers of book: 50-51
Summary: This video gives an overview of Boeing's efforts, in conjunction with The University of Nottingham, to recycle carbon fiber composite materials from their Dreamliner 787 and use them in non-structural components inside the aircraft. The researchers at The University of Nottingham have developed a recycling process based on a fluidized bed that aims to remove the epoxy resin from the carbon fibers. These recycled fibers can be aligned and modeled into items such as seat-backs. Summary Author: Abigail Lambert |
