Summary: Ceramic composite brake disks have proven to be lighter, more heat resistant to friction caused by braking, and found to last sixty times longer than regular cast iron brakes. The base ceramic material is composed of silicon augmented with carbon fibers. Components undergo mixing, heating, pressing, and quality control processes.
