Dr. Carey is an assistant research professor at the University of South Florida, Department of Mechanical Engineering. She was also a researcher at the Center of Innovation on Disability and Rehabilitation Research at the Tampa VA. She earned a B.S. in Engineering Science from the University of Florida, and a M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Miami and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of South Florida (USF). She is the research coordinator for USF’s Center for Assistive, Rehabilitation and Robotics Technologies (CARRT). She has developed an Introduction to Bioastronautics course and a Rehabilitation Engineering course. She has worked at the University of Miami’s Center of Excellence, The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis and for Peak Performance Technologies, now Vicon Motion Systems.
